Breath of Prayer

Still your heart and wait

For the silence of breath

And the rhythm of blood.

For here, life hides, in the strangest of cages

Turbulent in the quiet exchanges of atmosphere.

Still your heart and wait for the pleading of psalms

And the pulse of the prophets.

For here yearns a passion for truth and love

Aroused in the reflex of lungs.

Breath slowly my friend, take deep draughts

Of what cannot be seen, for like God Himself,

The wind as of nowhere fills your sails,

And guides you to your heart's desire.

Praise the Lord! How Good it is to sing praises to our God; For He is gracious, and a song of praise is fitting. [Psalm 147 v 1]
